ABOUT ME
Ever since I could remember, I had always been surrounded by music. It's hard not to be, especially in a Filipino household. There would always be a sort of singing at any part of the day, be it in the shower or while cooking or even when calling people to the table to eat. Even our language was quite musical, in a way.
So it wasn't much of a surprise that I decided to play the violin. What was first a summer class when I was a bored 11-year-old turned into a lifetime choice. I caught up fast and joined extra-curricular activities in music, such as the band, the string ensemble, along with the choir where we performed regularly outside.
I learned under khru Rapee Mika Napawan and a year later, joined Sunrise String Orchestra. It was another gateway to the depths of music. I learned a lot, from playing music with quality to playing together in an orchestra. We played around and outside of Thailand, ranging from Singapore to Europe, where we competed in the International Youth Music Festival 2015 at Bratislava, Slovakia and performed at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
A year later, I started studying at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music under the tutelage of ajarn Sittichai Pengcharoen. It was under him that I realized that I had barely scratched the surface of music itself, much more music making and playing.
It was a challenge. But it was a challenge I wasn't going to back down from, despite falling down multiple times. As Beethoven said, "Don't only practice your art but force your way into its secrets."
I can say that I have come a long way from where I was and where I am and most definitely, where I will be in the future.
